ΜΑΘΗΣΙΑΚΑ ΑΠΟΤΕΛΕΣΜΑΤΑ

Μετά την ολοκλήρωση του μαθήματος, οι φοιτητές θα είναι σε θέση να:

1)

Επιδείξουν κριτική κατανόηση της ιστορικής εξέλιξης των μεσαιωνικών πολιτικών σχηματισμών της Αρμενίας

2)

Εξηγήσουν τη γεωπολιτική σημασία του αρμενικού κόσμου για τη Βυζαντινή Αυτοκρατορία.

3)

Αναλύσουν και αξιολογήσουν την εξέλιξη των σχέσεων της Κωνσταντινούπολης με τις αρμενικές πολιτικές οντότητες

4)

Αναλύουν τις κοινές ιστορικές εμπειρίες των Αρμενίων και των Βυζαντινών στο πλαίσιο ενός ευρύτερου μεσαιωνικού πλαισίου

5)

Εφαρμόζουν ψηφιακά εργαλεία και μεθόδους για την υποστήριξη της έρευνας στις βυζαντινές και αρμενικές σπουδές

Εβδομάδα 01 | Βυζάντιο και Αρμενία: Μια εισαγωγή

Επισκόπηση του γεωγραφικού, πολιτισμικού και πολιτικού τοπίου του Καυκάσου· Εισαγωγή σε βασικές έννοιες, πηγές και ιστοριογραφικές συζητήσεις.

Οι πολιτικές δομές της δυναστείας των Αρσακιδών· η μεταστροφή στο Χριστιανισμό και οι πολιτισμικές της επιπτώσεις· οι σχέσεις με το Βυζάντιο και τη Σασανιδική Περσία.

Διπλωματικές, στρατιωτικές και εκκλησιαστικές σχέσεις· Ενσωμάτωση των αρμενικών ελίτ στις βυζαντινές δομές· Συγκρούσεις και συμμαχίες.

Ο αντίκτυπος της αραβικής επέκτασης· Η μεταμόρφωση της πολιτικής εξουσίας στην Αρμενία· Συνέχεια και αλλαγή στις περιφερειακές δυναμικές.

Μελέτη του ρόλου και της συμβολής των Αρμενίων στο βυζαντινό στρατό· Ανάλυση των μηχανισμών στρατολόγησης, ένταξης και εξέλιξης των αρμενικών στρατιωτικών ελίτ· Η σημασία της αρμενικής στρατιωτικής παρουσίας στην άμυνα των συνόρων και στην αυτοκρατορική στρατηγική· Αξιολόγηση της πολιτισμικής αλληλεπίδρασης και της ταυτότητας στο πλαίσιο του βυζαντινού στρατού.
